    Spindle sander sleeves

My HF spindle sander came with sleeves, but I went ahead and bought a package with other grits from Klingspor. The HF sleeves fit fine. The Klingspor sleeves seem to ride up. Other than cranking the spindle nut tighter, is there something else that is suppose to be done? Thought I'd ask before contacting Klingspor.

To all who have the HF spindle sander, what sleeves do you use? It doesn't seem that HF carries the sleeves anymore. couldn't find them on the website. They were there about a month ago.

    Thanks in advance.

I got the set that came with it of course, and then bought 120 or 150 set and a 220 set from HF.

I don't have any other kind.

      Update:

I contacted Harbor Freight and they advised that they're no longer carrying the spindle sleeves for the OSS. Something to do with their supplier.

I talked to Klingspor and they tried their sleeves on a Jet and a Delta and the sleeves fit those models. The deal appears that the HF drums might be a tad smaller. Klingspor offered to credit me for the sleeves I bought, but as I haven't found many vendors with good pricing, so I opted to try something on my own.

I took a 1/4" of plywood and cut a 3" hole with a hole saw. I drilled out the center hole to 3/8" and used a thin 2" washer for added support. Worked great, it kept the sleeves from riding up and I was able to crank the drum pretty tight.

Just some info for anyone with the HF OSS. Been using it and it's a great tool.

Thanks for this bit of information.

I am glad I bought the last of what I could find at HF. The Memphis store was out the last time I was there; The HF in Springfield MO is where I bought the last two sets that they had. Next time I am in a different HF, I will check them and see if they have any left.
