    Harbor Freight 20 Ton press?

I was considering purchasing a 20 ton press from Harbor Freight. Does anyone have experience with it? It seems that their products are hit and miss in terms of quality and safety. Thanks.

I have one, works fine for what it is.

If you are looking for a press for wheel bearings, etc. and know how to do fixturing it is fine. No press really presses "straight", so you have to set up the fixturing to ensure the part goes in straight.

I'm not sure I would buy the plates again, though - I usually just make my own custom plates for specific tasks from plate steel.

I use it a lot, it's a bargain for the price.

What are you planning to press with it?

BTW, works great for pressing on cable ends, such as the keepers on the ends of parking brake cables and the splices for steel cable.

I know someone who had one and it was great for crushing bowling balls after an evening of adult beverages....
