I've owned a Ryobi-made Craftsman cheapie, Freud FT2000E, Freud FT1700, (2) Milwaukee 5615, Milwaukee 5625, Bosch 1617, PC690LR, and a Hitachi M12VC. I liked different aspects of all of them, and still have the Freud FT1700, MW5625, MW5615, and Hitachi M12VC. If I could only pick one brand, I'd give the nod to Milwaukee, but it's hard to imagine any of the heavy weight names being unsatisfactory. In the end, go with what's comfortable for hand use, and whichever is best suited for table use that's within budget.

They aren't going to determine your nationality status based on which one you pick. Eeny, meeny...

I'll be the lone wolf who votes Craftsman.

Which is your fave? What one will you pick the next time you pick up a router to use it?
The choice of a router brand for this poll is seemingly which router of equivalent size and power with like options. The poll doesn't take into consideration that for a high horsepower router, one brand may be the preferred brand, but for a trim router it may be another brand.

Maybe if the poll was worded more specifically.

You left off Ridgid routers. My router is Porter Cable, but I own quite a few Ridgid tools and I am quite happy with them.

You should have had one poll for hand held and another for table mounted.

i had one choice left and could not think of another brand. So in my usual vein of trying to have a comedic relief poll choice I took the obvious double entendre and looked up to see... NETGEAR winking at me. so, there it was.

    Sorry Cisco, D-link, Belkin, etc.

    What's your favorite router brand?

Someone asked I be more specific:

If you are on a desert island with a stack of 3/4" x 4" x 3 ft walnut and maple lumber and a 12-foot Belden 16/3 extension power cord and a set of 66 MLCS router bits, had a Generac 3 KW generator with an unlimited amount of Shell 87 octane ((R+M)/2) gasoline and Penzoil 10W-30 oil, which brand of router would take with you?

    (Hope I didn't forget any)

C'mon guys its just a fun poll.
