is annoying in that the lock handle, when not in use, is always trying to engage and protruding out from the edge of the saw and getting in the way. what do those of you with a t-2 or bies type fence do to keep the lock handle out of the way when not in use?

my T-2 fence
I have that same fence on one of my saws and was annoyed by the same
problem....an easy and cheap fix. I used a 3/8" size rare earth magnet, attached
to the fence in front of the locking handle, keeps the handle up out of the way
and it doesn't drop down until I pull the handle down. Hope this helps...

A small magnet is a simple fix...the Biese actually comes with one. My General T-fence (Biese clone) used a rubber grommet squeezed between the two pieces of steel to hold the handle up.

I have the same complaint about my T-2 and never thought about a magnet.Comment

thanks for the replies. my t2 fence is like Knottscott's....and it seems like the horizontal spacer, which sits just above the locking handle's axle, would prevent the locking handle from getting close enough to any flat surface that could hold a magnet and still make contact with the locking handle.there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it.Comment
