works great for me for turning, routing and inlay's. very thin and strong, not like the mesh carpet tape.

I have seen and used two types : one, called 'mounting tape', is around 3/4" wide and has a spongy, thick body. Maybe it's been me, but it has never worked for me - the adhesion has sometimes been not strong enough for jigs and such; and it felt a bit unstable because of the thickness. And not sure what it supposed to help me mount, so no comments on that !

The other type looks like regular masking tape (in thickness). I use the one I bought at Harbor Freight - 1.5 inches wide, white, cheap, and strong. Of course, I might spend 60 seconds in frustrated grumbling and swearing each time I have to separate the tape from the backing, but whaddoIknow? Maybe all double-sided tapes are like that. IIRC, I paid around $8.

Most of mine has come from Highland Hardware, in Atlanta. IIRC their prices are considerably lower than other vendors, and their tape has always held very securely.

Polyken, I'm lucky since I snag a roll or two from the carpenters whenever I go on show site, but great adhesion and re-set strength. Rated at around 3lbs per inch it holds well.
