    Bad Day For Sanders

I was working on a cart for my shop vac / Thein separator and was ready to sand before assembly My Bosch H&L would not hold a disk for more than a few seconds before trying to throw it. I still have a little bit of PSA paper so I got out the PC sander. That lasted about 2-3 minutes before the backing pad disintegrated.

I have been meaning to convert the PC to H&L so I guess now is the time. One of the tool dealers on my route keeps the 8 hole DeWalt pads in stock and they use the same 3 screw attachment as PC.One of my other customers is a Bosch dealer. I will have to check with him to see if he stocks the pads.

On the plus side, I broke out my old Black and Decker Quantum Pro 1/4 sheet sander and she ran like she was new.

I like my Milwaukee ROS the best. It is 5 inch hook and loop. My bigger DeWalt 6 inch still works OK, it is just a little hard to control one handed. Buy my old Rockwell speedblock, 1/4 sheet, comes out once in awhile. It is on it's second pad and power switch but works like a champ. No dust collection however.

I picked up new H&L pads for both mine today. Got a bit of a discount at both places. $16 Bosch for 13.00 and the DeWalt pad for the PC knocked down from $19 to $15. Started working on a welding cart tonight so I didn't put either of them on.

The 5" PSA discs that i have left will either be used on the little 1" belt / 5" disc sander or get used for hand sanding.
