Several years ago my garage was burgled and they took several items (18v batteries, cordless drill, charger & 3x21" sander BE321VS).
I replaced most everything, but when it came to the sander, I took my time as I had no current use for it, but really loved its power and adjustable speed control.
Now, when I need one, it appears that Ryobi has discontinued it! As they did with their top-of-the-line table saw, which thank God the bad actors didn't cart away, Ryobi keeps canceling their best stuff. Think they did this with their best planer, too.
AFAIK you can neither get one from HD nor from Ryobi nor any other source. Neither new nor factory rebuild. Really wish this hadn't happened.
So, desperate, I got a rebuild from an outfit in Fullerton, CA. It appears not to be a rebuild, but used. Case is thrashed and the tool is dirty. Motor is pretty lunched, with reduced power; belts won't stay on the rollers (you can't adjust the angle of the front roller sufficiently for them to want to stay put); belts fit VERY slack and AFAICT there is no adjustment for distance between the rollers. At least nothing is mentioned in the manual.
Sad enough for you? Well, for me at least.
I hope to get some satisfaction from Fullerton (that is, give me my money back and we'll just pretend we never heard of each other), but does anyone know where this machine may be available? Preferably new, of course, but rebuilt or pretty good used is OK. Asking a lot, I know.
Thanks.
Don.
