    Rockwell Bladerunner

I was in Menards this week and they had a new saw on display. Rockwell has a stationary jig saw with a table. It looked pretty cool with miter slots in the table. It was in the section with scroll saws.

    Check out the web site.

This has it's own infomercial that I meant to post about a few weeks ago.
I have a little blog about my shop

I saw the infomercial, and the thing does look cool. OTOH, I used the jigsaw attachment on my BT3K and it was disaster. It was a real bucking bronco, with the work piece bouncing all over the place, cuts going off in all directions. Yikes.

      YMMV.

Interesting. I'll wait for derivatives from other tool makers to improve on this simple design

I looked at the display model at Menards yesterday and wasn't that impressed. Seems more like a gimmicky type thing than a serious woodworking tool.

I saw one at WC the other day. I guess I don't see why you would want one if you could get a 9 or 10" BS for around the same price.

As a side note, in the latest FW Tools and Shops issue (a total waste of money this year...) there is a guy that built a small, mobile, but usuable shop in one "cart". He used an inverted jig saw and attached self made BS-type rollers in an arm above it. It looks very similar to what this is.

Gotta remember that this isn't marketed to us. If you watch the infomercial you'll see the target audience.

I will say at least from the 30-minute ad the motor did look beefier and more well mounted than your average jigsaw turned upside down.

I watched the infomercial and was reminded of the over-hyped Roto-Zip!
