Does anyone own a Milwaukee Drill/Driver set

I have only a tailed drill and for some of the work I do it would be great to have an extra setup (like in drill/countersink then separate unit for driving) and the impact would be great for the rough construction I do. I saw this combo on Amazon for $199 http://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-2691...410029&sr=1-12 Does anyone have it or its components? What do you think of the price?

I'd buy it if I were in the market. Milwaukee Li-ion tools have been very highly rated since they came out a few years ago.

It does have small capacity batteries. Replacement larger capacity batteries can be found for about $80 if that's a concern.

I have both tools and am quite happy with them.

I don't like the price, though. I bought my 4 piece set - trim saw, driver, impact driver, charger, two batteries, flashlight - for $249 or so at HD. There was a promotion for a free tool, so I got the 4" angle grinder as the free tool. $249 for 5 tools seemed like a good price, so I wouldn't be satisfied with paying nearly that for only two tools.

If you can wait, black friday is coming up and HD often runs that special toward the end of the year.

Good point, I am off Black Friday and did it last year. Didnt spend much on anything other than a dryer and washer that were desperately needed. Maybe its time to go again Thanks for the input on the price. I really don't have much use for the other tools, but you are right, they may have a better incentive, not to mention they may do a same as cash no interest for 12 months again. Might be worthwhile to pickup an extended battery.

How long do you get out of your regular batteries?

I've had this set about 8 months and I'm still pleased as punch with it.
It's been used to build 110 ft. of fence, partitioning a basement into four rooms including drywall and new electrical service, and daily chores in the shop. It is as powerfull and the batteries last about two to three times as long as my larger and heavier two year old Milwaukee 14.4v drill/driver.
It's also has a nifty power indicator on the battery, so I don't have to guess whether I grabbed a partly drained battery.

I also have that set. It was a Father's Day gift for me. It does much more than I expected, and the recharge time is 15 - 20 minutes. It comes with 2 batteries (at least mine did), so if your battery goes dead, you have a freshly charged battery ready to go.

But if you never used a li-ion, it takes a little getting used to. The unit will just quit running without losing power like the nicads.

I also think the price could be a little better. My advice would be to wait for a while.

I almost bought that set, but I opted for the one that comes with the hammer drill and full sized batteries. I had the other one on the counter then I opened it and I did not like the drill, nothing really wrong with it but the hammer drill feels much more heavy duty. so for $80 more I got 2 full sized batteries and a hammer drill upgrade.
A local store was running a trade in deal for $100 off. I gave them my old 18v drill and a dead battery. so I paid $220 for this kit. http://www.milwaukeetool.com/Product...ordless+System
the one you are looking at would have cost $140.

That is really cool, I would love the hammer drill feature, it comes in handy many times. Thanks for the input, I will have to keep my eyes open for it and if necessary, hit a pawn shop and get some old cheapo cordless to turn in!
