I've used the original Wagner Paint Eater, overall it does work to remove paint. In regards to the HF version; I don't see how the HF version could be made to a cheaper standard. After two disk changeouts the plastic housing on the restraining bolt for the arbor split in two. An easy fix with superglue, but still pretty annoying that they would use plastic on this part. Odds are the base is the same, or if you're lucky there is a collet.
One word of warning though; they're very difficult to use one handed since they like to bounce around. Easier to use than a heat gun or strippers, though DMC works great it's just very difficult to deal with the mess on soffit/fascia.
The one I like the looks of, and would love to try is the paint shaver. A machinist on another site I visit, built his own out of his scrap metal, and said it works well, I just don't like the price.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.
