I have a DW390K 18V circ saw that is about worthless on anything over about 1/2" thick. I cut up some 3/4" ply yesterday with my new PC345 Saw Boss, what a difference. The two are about the same weight but the balance on the PC is far superior and it went through the ply like a hot knife in butter. The blade is only 6" but that is plenty for anything that I will ever cut.

That does indeed look like a nice saw, but my experiences have led me to opine that just about any corded saw is going to cut practically all but the most flimsy material better than just about any cordless one will (assuming the blades are good on both), and I've tried a bunch of 'em... Those big batteries, I think, limit both the power available and the weight distribution...Last edited by Uncle Cracker; 05-27-2010, 12:00 PM. -
That's a nice saw. I like the blade on the left, and the smaller size. A bit pricey though. It should serve you well.

I have a cordless 18V Bosch that does ok. If I only have 1 sheet to cut down, it is a little slow but is a darn sight easier than getting out an extension cord.David

Apples and oranges ole boy. The one with the tail will never let you down while the other can never really be counted on to finish a job it started._________________________
