    Lathe Parts?

Does anyone know where I can get the sharpening stones that mount on the end of a lathe? The lathe is a super old belt driven one that had a stone on the end of it. I broke the stone trying to replace the belt and I can't find a match anywhere.

What is the stone diameter and width. Also what is the shaft size. Is the stone part of the spacing for the shaft?? If it is it will also need to have a metal sleeve as most stones will not take a large compressive force.

Also what is the max speed on your lathe.

It is a 2 1/2" x 3/8" stone with a 1/2" shaft. The stone isn't part of the spacing. I don't know the max speed. The lathe is over 50 years old.

Would a 3" fit? MSC has them listed as "tool post" wheels

Thanks, a 3" would fit, as long as it fits the shaft.
