    Small Compressor Help

A little Old Lady (no kidding) gave me this compressor that she bought from the BORG less than two years ago. She used it to drive some or other cardboard cutting machine until one day it just quit, so she went and bought another one just like it.

I have had a look at it and it's just dead. The compressor piston moves freely as does the electric motor when turned by hand. However there does not appear to be any power going to the motor at all. I looked for a fuse but could not see one anywhere. Haven't yet taken a meter to the wires, but intend to do so.

Since no parts are readily available (I did find a place that has parts for sale at more than the price of a new machine!! Ha!!), I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this compressor and a possible solution.

Failing repair, I may just hook the tank up to her new unit and give her double air capacity which should reduce the stress on the motor and compressor.

    Any thoughts, suggestions, comments appreciated.

    Thanks.
    Gordon

i have a similar compressor, mine quit working about 25 hours into a flooring job, un-plugged it and took the top cover off and noticed a wire had become[vibrated loose was my guess] disconnected from the switch, connected back and it's run ever since.

i dont know if this information is helpful to you, but when i saw the pics, it reminded me, so i thought i might at least chime in.

    good luck!

either a disconnected wire or possibly a bad pressure switch. bypass the switch by jumping the switch and plug in the compressor if it starts the switch is bad. It could also have a thermal switch inside the motor. not much help there.

      good luck

Besides checking with a meter, see if there is a reset button.

It may have a thermal switch. Also, does the plug end look black or frayed, etc?
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.
