Replacement for hook-and-loop pad?

Couple of days back I bought the 'finger sander' attachment to the Multi-function tool from HF; essentially a thinner/smaller version of the triangular sander.

Today, after 5 minutes of sanding with it, I found it had sanded thru the sandpaper and the hook-and-loop material that holds the paper ! Talk of aggressive sanding! I like the functionality but am loth to buy a replacement for $9 when the whole tool cost me less than $30!

I thought I might save money by buying the hook-and-loop material, cutting to shape and gluing to the attachment. Anybody have an idea where I could find some such material? Might even be useful when other similar pads wear out.

Try a craft or fabric store -- Jo-Ann fabrics, for example.

Lowe's (and probably HD, too; haven't looked) has hook-and-loop, in various sizes and shapes, that has an adhesive backing. Just cut, peel, and stick. I used to use it to anchor effects pedals to my pedalboard: it's VERY tenacious.

I don't own the HF tool but from looking at the pictures, I think the widest H&L that Lowe's sells might be wide enough. Be prepared for a little sticker shock, though: the stuff is more expensive than you might think.

Joann's has it I use that stuff just about everywhere. It comes in 1" wide rolls that are pre-glued. for easy installation.
