    Books for bandsaw boxes?

What books do you recommend for a newbie? I own a bandsaw for a month now, and want to start to think of doing something with it .

Donna Menke is oft mentioned (and she has been very helpful here); Lois Ventura seems to have a ridiculous premium attached to her first book ! I generally buy at half.com, but even they list it very high!

But more importantly, which one works well for me to learn the basics and not get intimidated? I like Tony Ward's designs, but want to read up before attempting any of his plans.

Did you see the listing for Lois Ventura's other book? Looks alot more affordable than the ridiculous price on the one you mentioned.

(Sidenote: High prices for books, especially used ones, are often inflated because one dealer prices his high, and others pull their prices from the first guy. Have patience, or make offers, as corrections often occur.)

Here is a book by Tom Crabb, for which used copies are available for cheap-to-middlin' prices...

I have some used book sources for my martial arts hobby, so I'll run this by them and see what turns up...

Also, here is a 3-volume instructional DVD series that might fit your budget.

I have Lois Ventura's book "Building Beautiful Boxes with Your Band Saw". I have not done anything with it... I didn't know I was sitting on such a gold mine! haha...
