Ryobi 18V LIon Battery Not Charging

The charger doesn't say it is bad, it just keeps blinking the 'testing' light. My older yellow One+ packs charge just fine. Do I need a new LIon pack? Also I noticed recently at HD that the newer LIon packs seem to have a lower profile than the one I have and are cheaper. Cheaper is good, but does this mean less run time?

The smaller ones are just that, smaller with less capacity to reduce tool weight. Standard size batteries are still available. Try a total discharge and then put it in the charger. (Just an idea)

Like Pappy said... If that doesn't work, you're probably gonna need to replace it.

I had a LIon battery that did that, The battery I have has a 3rd contact on it that keeps the battery from charging if it is too hot. On mine that contact had been bent in too far so that it wasn't making contact. Once I had bent it out a bit so it made contact it worked fine.

I just went through this with one of my Ryobi LiOn batteries (the full size one). I just left it on the charger and eventually it charged up just fine. I think maybe it was just too cold at first. I had left it in the garage and things have been a bit brisk here lately.

I will try leaving it in the charger but after fiddling yesterday I got it to start charging. Problem was in about 30 seconds it told me it was charged. I think I will have to replace it.
