    Morgan Vise

Hmm, from plug cutters to vices. I have a Morgan Vise, model 18-A, which I acquired at a school shop sealed bid auction for $8 back in 1975. I have never mounted it, for one reason or another but recently cleaned it up, painted and mounted it. Yea, you guessed it - it won't work. I have to lift on the front jaw to get the Acme threads to engage the half-nut. I could put up with that but it won't tighten. It snugs up but acts like a stripped thread when you go past snug. I'm betting that the brass (or is it bronze?) half-nut is worn out. What do you think?
    Blessings,

    Hmmm

$8.00 isn't too bad for a very solid Book End !
