    Ryobi 18 v li-on combo

Last month I bought a Ryobi 18v Li-on 4pc. combo set from HD for $269., a week later it was on sale for $229. I asked for a price adjustment and got it, that was great. The tools worked great but, after 3 weeks, the batteries started to give me problems. The charger would flash it as defective battery, I pull it out & reinsert it then it would charge. But after 15 min. of use it would die. This happened with both batteries. I returned it got a full refund, HD is great. Walked into COSTCO got a great deal on a Hitachi 4pc combo 18V li-on for $299, + got a $100.00 off coupon final cost $199. so far it's been working great. Bought a NEW Hitachi 18V jig saw for $75. with no battery from their reconditioned sales on-line. They sell NEW as well as recon tools online , they 're offering free shipping for you folks on the continet thats a great bargin.

Interesting. I have a Ryobi 18V Li battery and it works great. Ihve had it almost a year now. There is a huge difference in performance between it and my One+ batteries. Budget won't let me get another yet though.

      Ryobi LiOn kit..

I got the combo kit last year and three additional LiOn packs. One of them failed within three months. Ryobi replaced the pack through the local service center. No issues with any of them since. I have two of the dual chemistry chargers and they work great. I packed up all of my old chargers and just use the new ones, even with the six old One+ packs.

I've gone out to look for myself. If I return before I get back, have me wait for me.

I got a 12v Li battery combo. It turns out that Li batteries have a temperature sensor that keeps them from getting too hot & exploding & stuff like that. I think that most Li battery problems are actually temperature sensing problems.

Right out of the box one the batteries that came with the combo started flashing the "too hot" light when trying to charge. Actually it was just that the contact for the temperature sensor was bent & not making contact. A small minor adjustment to the contact & everything has been fine since.

The 12v tools aren't quite as powerful as 18v but strong enough for most stuff & very very lite. The batteries last log enough for nearly any task & the recharge time is very quick. The combo included a cute little 4" circular saw that comes with a Carbide tipped blade. It will cut 1" wood nicely.
