    interesteing concept

Did a quick search and didn't find it mentioned here. I was googling about routing aluminium when I found this site

    http://www.jobsitepcw.com/video.html

Quite a clever idea and is ripe for picking apart for home workshop ideas.

It is a clever idea. But for $4850 without tools, is pretty expensive. It would be a good project to make with it in mind.

That is really ideal for the carpenter who needs all that capability. I just don't know how he would get it around from site to site w/o a lift gate! The layout is ideal for some of us that have small shops. Thanks for the post, some great ideas in there!

        Patrick,

That is a great idea and well organized.

Did you find anything on routing aluminum? I have been doing it for several years. Back on the old Ryobi Forum, I asked about routing and the initial reaction was NOOOO. Then someone mentioned that they did it in ship building all the time - used carbide bits on routers for shaping edges. But use long sleeve shirts and face guard for sure.

Yeah $4850 is expensive. It is a great implementation of the all in one work center though. Some of the work benches I have seen pictures of on here with just a little extra work could rival this.

I sent the designer of it a email yesterday saying what a great idea it was. He replied back today saying he's working hard at getting it out in the market place.

I do agree that it's a bit pricey but if you have a carpentry business and do a lot of work on site I think it would pay for itself pretty quickly.

It actually has brackets on the back for a fork lift to use.

            Hank,

I didn't find out much about routing aluminium but I only need to remove 1/8 so I think 3-4 passes will be fine. Worst case scenario is I ruin a bit. If everything works out ok I've got a cheap way of making t nuts.
