    Veritas Planes are Cheap!

    When compared to these works of art.

    They are absolutely beautiful though.

      Beautiful stuff, but at those prices, I would be afraid to scratch one up while using it...

        I'm a little concerned about buying a hand tool that my kids could lose that costs more than my truck!!!

        According to a currency converter I found online, the cheapest one is nearly $4k.

          That's no longer a tool but artwork. For that price I could hire a professional to do the planing for me

            If I had enough money to hire a professional I sure wouldn't waste her time with any wood planing.

                Doesn't it just piss you off seeing some dude come along and dovetail metal? I have a hard enough time putting dovetails in wood and not using much putty on my joints. Ugh.

                  Those are really good looking planes. The craftsmanship is incredible.

                  When considering the pricing, I found this a bit ironic;
                  "Please note that although we are able to take credit card payments over the phone we cannot process payments online because of the high fees charged by the banks and Paypal. "
