    The Dust Deputy

I have a very small shop in my garage that I use to work on small projects. I don't have the space for a dust collector, so I came across "the Dust Deputy" while searching for options. Any of you guys have any experience with it or have a better option. Thanks in advance.

save your money and check out this site:

    http://www.cgallery.com/jpthien/cy.htm

once you view the video, click on the forums link. there is more useful information there than you can shake a stick at. the cyclone is good, but costly. building your own separator, with a thien baffle, is cheaper and in some instances, performs better.
there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it.

I have one which I use for things such as sanders, my circular saw, etc. You can use a Thien separator for smaller tools as well as larger tools, but this was more portable for me. I prefer something like the Thien for larger tools and since I have too low of ceiling for a traditional cyclone.

I like the tool, but I am not found of their business practices. They sent a patent infringement notice, to their biggest competitor, who had been selling their version, for three years prior to them having theirs. Their competitors, is also based on prior art published on the net for many years prior to that.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Exactly why I will never buy one or suggest that others do. I hate thus sort of legal snatch and grab. Pathetic.

The Thein Baffle, follows the same principle, is easily a DIY task, takes up less room, will use any container, etc. The only reason to buy something like this is ???? If you're going to spend the money, I think I would spend more and get something much better and easier to use.

So you guys aren't going to be thrilled with my recent patent filing for the grilled cheese sandwich, are you?

I have the ClearVue Mini CV06 that is currently in the patent dispute:
                http://www.clearvuecyclones.com/Order_Page.htm
The thing is just incredible between my joiner, planer, BT3000, and my 6hp Rigid vacuum/blower.. It absolutely astonishes me every time I dump the chips and fines from the collection drum I made, and then look under the lid of the vac, and there's nothing there. I used to hate cleaning the filter all the time, and that's why I bought the ClearVue. You can make your own; all the info is on Bill Pentz's site.http://billpentz.com//woodworking/cy...ildCyclone.cfm

I hate to tell you, but that is going to infringe on MY new patent filing for something I call "sliced bread". So you are going to have to license that technology from me if you want to produce your product.

As long as you don't use your sliced bread to make a GC sandwich, and then consume said SW with tomato soup.

That's right, folks, I am also patenting the GC SW/Tomato soup combo.
