    table saw fence

I have a Sears 10" contraactors saw but am not satisfied with the fence. What would you recomend for a fence replacement. Cost is quite a factor. Thanks, WC

The Delta T2 is one of the better bargains IMHO.

Another option on a Biese caliber fence is this deal on a Jet Exacta II if you can source your own rails....the rails for this fence are the same as the Shop Fox Classic, Biesemeyer Commercial, HTC, PM...2" x 3" tubing and angle iron.

Ditto to Scott. T2 is a good fence for little money.

If you can either find the rails seperately, or want to make your own (2x3" steel), you could buy the fence from someone like Equipment Sales and Surplus on Ebay. (EDIT: Jet Xacta II item #180408218810)

Also on their non ebay site, they have a Jet Microglide fence (52") for $80 (anyone know how good it is?):

Some time ago, I found the Powermatic rails on Ebay (local seller) after getting the Bies closeout at Lowe's. I wanted a set to cut down. I ended up trading the fence to a friend (we both were happy), and kept the second rail set. The seller above, had both the fence, and the fence and rail packages at the time (old Woodcraft, anniversary stock). The Fence was cheap enough, I am around the price of the Delta T2 (also a good fence). This is not meant as a gloat, I am just trying to show you do have some options, depending on time and budget.

She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

The Microglide is functional, but is not typically as well regarded as the T2, Vega, Biese, Exacta, HTC, etc. IIRC, it was the stock fence on the original Jet Supersaw, and was sometimes criticized as not being on par with fences from other saws in that price range ($800-$1000).
