    Avanti Pro dado set?

Anyone have any idea what kind of quality an Avanti Pro 8" dado set would be? I ran across a set for $50 in a local shop. It doesn't say "Freud" anywhere that I can see but it was in a display near the Freud saw blades (and more avanti pro blades). A forum search shows that at one point Freud was putting the Avanti name on their thin kerf blades. But the Freud website shows no sign of that now.

    Anyone seen these before?

I havne't seen the Avanti Pro Dado Set, but I have seen the Avanti Pro blades at HD. They look nothing like the Italian made Freud Avanti series or Freud Diablo series that is well regarded as good budget blades. The "Avanti Pro" looked pretty mediocre to me....tiny teeth, cheap stamped steel bodies, made in China. Some looked identical to the DW construction series, which I don't consider very suitable for fine woodworking.

No way I'd take the chance with so many other good choices around.

That was pretty much my thinking as well. It just confused me a bit due to the connection with Freud.
