    Bosch Multi-X (multimaster clone)

I guess Bosch is the latest to make their copy of Fein's Multimaster. Has anyone used this? I have 3 of their 12v(10.8) tools and was wondering how these perform compared to others.

On a side note, did Fein's patent run out recently or something? Seems like there's a new clone every couple of months.

I think the patent must of run out. I don't know about this tool from Bosch but I have a few other tools made by them and they all seem to be good quality.

BTW, I've talked to two people who have the HF model of this tool and are pretty happy with it. I'm sure the HF price is much cheaper than either Fein or Bosch.

Yeah, the patent ran out. I have looked at and tried the Bosch. Seems pretty well put together, but the feel is not like my MM. Think I'm just spoiled.

I believe Bosch (and Craftsman) are the only cordless clones. HF, dremel and plenty others are of a corded variety. I don't know if this tool should be cordless or not, I also dislike cordless tools in general (drill is an exception). Whatever convinience you gain by not needing the cord - you lose by having havier tool. I have a HF and I certainly prefer corded for $40 to cordless for $200. I have used some Bosch's accessories with HF tool - they fit just fine.

Although it's not cordless, you can buy 10 of the HF version along with a lifetime supply of blades for price of the Bosch.

Yah I agree the price is way too high when compared to similar tools. I was just wondering if there was a big difference in quality when compared to the Dremel or HF brand. I may have to give the HF model a try since I still have a 20% off coupon from them.

Anyone know when Festool's Domino patent runs out .
