It has been the most indispensable tool I've used for the rebuilding of my shop. Aside from that, there is something manly man about using one - sorta like a chainsaw.

Yup Milwaukee makes great tools. I hate to play word cop here but Sawzall is a trademarked name.
If your referring to a reciprocating saw in general then yes I agree they are much fun for causing destruction.Last edited by sparkeyjames; 08-08-2009, 10:00 PM.Comment

Milwaukee's IP lawyers would have you believe that the term is not in common usage. Maybe it's not generally, but just like many companies make Xerox machines and Kleenex, in my house any reciprocating saw will be called a Sawzall

My wife makes up names for stuff. They're generally so cute I wind up using them too. I'll have to get her to tell me what a recip saw is.
Edit: She calls it the MAN saw. With the emphasis on "man". Now if I want her to go grab it for me out of the shop while I'm working on something in the house, I'll have to tell her to go get me the Mansaw.Last edited by docrowan; 08-09-2009, 06:44 AM.- Chris.Comment

I was helping a neighbor build a storage building yesterday, one of the studs had bowed where the the walls meet and he had to cut the siding loose from the stud to straighten it out. A little medicine from doctor sawzall and a few clamps and we were back at in about 5 minutes.
I also like the ads for these on Cl. I have seen sawsaw, sawzaw, zawzaw and a few others along this line.
Anyway you say or spell it it is one of the most useful tools to own.Last edited by drillman88; 08-09-2009, 11:18 AM.I think therefore I .....awwww where is that remote.Comment

I always dread getting the sawzall out...because something is not going as planned if I get it out.
On the other hand, it always goes much smoother then I think it will when I get the sawzall out...-John

Sawzall or hacksaw?
That's how Jack "Hacksaw" Reynolds got his nickname (former linebacker on the Los Angeles Rams, when they actually played in LA). And he used a hacksaw -- cordless, no less. An 18V would have been too easy.Comment
