    Bosch 4000 problem

Lately, it has been very difficult to raise the blade on my Bosch 4000. Lowering it is no problem. It goes down smoothly and easily. But when I try to raise it, I have to use a lot of pressure to turn the wheel. Any idea what's causing this, and how I can fix it?

I have no experience with a Bosch 4000. Lets get that out right now! Like any woodworking tool you will need to keep sawdust cleaned out regularly. With my saw I use a dry graphite to lube almost all parts that move. Try a search on google that is for your machine that has the key word "problem" in the search! You very may come up with a solution.

    Just my thoughts, Cork

      Bosch 4000 problem

I don't have the Bosch saw either....but it sounds as if there is excess sawdust stuck on the raise/lower mechanism and screw shaft. Saw dust
on that screw shaft not only makes raising the blade difficult, but if you continue to force the mechanism to work with extra resistance it is certainly
going to fail real soon, and it could be expensive to repair!
