Other than a bit of surface rust on the base (looks like some water got on it, it does look new. The chuck has not even been installed in the spindle. And yes, it does look like the HF unit, so the one on CL would appear to be overpriced.

Given it's from HF, it's possible that the rust was on the base out of the box. The saltwater air on the boat from China can take it's toll.

Let's see; If he bought it with a 20% off coupon and adds the tax

        200.00 -20% =160.00
        160.00 X sales tax (8.5%) =173.60

Sell it for 180.00 = profit of $6.40

Wow what a deal, if he can do this 108 times per day for 4 years he can make $1,000,000.00
Often in error - Never in doubt

I've seen much the opposite with those few HF items I have. Most have showed up so completely slathered in cosmolene that it took hours just to clean them up... I got their mortiser a couple years ago, and could hardly tell one part from another for all the goop...

Probably the hardest thing in my shop to keep from rusting is the DP column. I just seem to over-look it when all other bare metal gets a wax job about once a week as I use machines daily and the wax gets rubbed off with stock slides across it constantly. I ocassionaly go after the column but not as often as I should.

But.. with that said.... I have never seen a DP that wouldn't function that had rust specs on the column or chuch for that matter.

Hey Sarge if I remember correctly you use the magswitch feathboards right? I'm having a problem with them moving around when I have the TS waxed? They don't have the same horizontal traction with a waxed top. Have you ever had the problem?
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I have tried a Grip-tite magnetic Jussi but... it wasn't me with the Magswitch deal. I sold the Grip-tites simply because they have a tendency to scratch the table if it doesn't release straight up which it didn't always. I use home brewed spring-boards... etc. that work off miter tracks on the table top and at the end where I added one just for that purpose.
