Does anyone have a plan for this jig?

I need plans for a jig that can be used with a trim router to prevent the "whoopsies" that happen when trying to trim down 3/4" X 3/4" edging on 3/4" plywood shelves.
I have seen some plans somewhere for a jig that fits over the shelf and keeps the trim router at 90 deg. to the outer edge of the edging.
I trimmed three shelves using a trim router and a 1/4" trim bit and made several gouges in the edging. :~(

It took me a minute to correctly visualize what you're doing (mental thickness on my part, nothing to do with your description). Then I realized you're talking about an operation that I do on the router table, using a special fence on the infeed side. IMO that's the safest and most foolproof way, but you may not have a router table available, and/or the shelf may already be assembled into the project.

I've seen several jigs that do what you describe. Here's one. You could accomplish the same thing by clamping a scrap board to the shelf, shimmed out to clear the overhanging part of the edging.

An offset base on the router helps, too. You can make one yourself, using something like 1/2" Baltic birch plywood, or buy a fancy one from Pat Warner.

google "flush trim jig" and ya gonna get a gazillion good varieties.
the one larry posted is also on a sawmill creek thread.
      http://patwarner.com/vertical_trim_subbase.html

heres one someone there made. (attached)

an even simpler solution i saw was using a 2x4 the length
      of the shelf,with a 1/4" rabbet/gap along one edge.
just clamp it flush to the edge banding (mounted vertically)
      heres the book.

heres one from shopnotes, pdf form..

      one last one, here
think this is very simplistic too!!

Thanks, tribalwind, the one from Shopnotes is exactly what I was looking for. And, thank you Larry for your reply.
