The full kerf woodworker II for $73 on Amazon is extremely tempting. I have a Grizzly G0478 2hp hybrid and have only used thin kerf blades on it since its an "underpowered" sub-3hp saw. So what does everyone think? Can I use the full-kerf version on my 2hp machine or will I pay a significant penalty?

A full kerf blade is ~ 30% thicker than a comparable TK, and will pose additional resistance on the saw relative to a TK. It'll be most noticeable on thicker materials, but your saw should handle most common thicknesses with that blade pretty well. I'd switch to a 24T ripper for hardwoods over ~ 1.5".
FWIW, the 9" WWII 40T TK is on sale for $67 shipped.Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth. -
Is your saw on 110 or 220? I have no experience with 220, but those I know do, say it has less issues. She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.Comment
