Great Customer Service Still Exists - Veritas

Its good to know that some companies still recognise the value of great customer service.

I bought a Veritas MK II honing guide a few months back. I was very happy with it but when I used the cam roller to add a microbevel it just wouldnt create it parallel to the primary bevel.

I emailed Veritas and after a short conversation related to techinque (mine was fine) they just sent me a whole new one which they tested before they sent it. They simply asked me to test the new one and if it was OK return the original one to Lee Valley with an enclosed prepaid shipping slip.

No arguments, no "send it back to us first," no "buy another and we will credit you back when we receive the original." They just dealt with it and did what was best for the customer.

We know they make great tools but with the addition of great customer service thats what keeps you going back for more.

It is nice to know they stand behind their products. I love my MKII. Hope the new one works for you.

I certainly agree. I presume you are talking about Lee Valley Tools? I've done a lot of business with them and always have been satisfied with their problem solving. No 2 would be Grizzly. Both are great places with real people to talk to if you have a problem.

Tried it over the weekend and the microbevels come out perfect.

You hear the same story about them every time. They just "get it".
