Is this a real good deal?

I see a Jet JWTS-10CWZ contractor saw, with cast iron wings and a Biesemeyer
fence for sale for $700 on craigslist. It is right tilt. I have been looking at the Delta 36-980 at Lowes. I don't know anything about Jet saws. Would you think that it is as good or better saw than the Delta? The extra long table to the right of the wing....is that part of that particular fence, or is it an additional part?
    Thanks
    Dave

Just my opinion, of course, but with the exception of a loaded out Unisaw, I think Jets are generally better saws. I'd probably hold off a big buy until you can get a left-tilt, though.

I agree. Although there are some goodies with this saw, you could do better, and might like a left tilt better.

That's pretty expensive for a used contractor saw....Biese fence or not, it's close to double what I'd think is a good deal. The Jet's a decent saw but there's nothing special about it to command a premium over any other decent contractor saw. I sold a tricked out GI contractor saw with two blades, router table, mobile base, and aux fence for $525 delivered and setup, and thought I was fortunate to get that for it. $700 goes along way toward a new hybrid or cabinet saw, and buys several decent new contractor saws with warranty and money left over for a good blade.
Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

I think thats a little over priced.Around here those and Ridgid 3650 are on cl for $300-$400.There was a guy selling a new 3650 with a new bies fence for $500.I would hold off with the economy the way it is imo someone will be selling a similar saw much cheaper.
I think therefore I .....awwww where is that remote.

Is it a good deal on a contractor saw? IMO.. as others simply No! I sold an excellent condition Uni-saw with Biese.. crown gaurd and over-head dustshield for $850. Used cabinet saws can be had from $600-$900 and with the economy, I would be patient as I personally believe you will see more put up for sale.

            Good luck...

For the price you quoted....I don't think so. Top price for that saw...$600.00! I would not worry about left tilt vs right tilt....go with what ever type saw you like and are comfortable with not everyone's opinion. I have
two saws and both are right tilt...that is what I'm used to...that is what I've always used. I would not let that feature cause me to lose a great deal on a saw if I were shopping for a new one. You have to think, how often do I really have to tilt the blade for a bevel cut anyway ? second thing, what is the safest way to make this cut anyhow?
Some more things to ponder when looking for a new(er) saw....eezlock
