Bang for Buck - Floor Standing Drill Press

Hi, I need to upgrade my silly, incredibly ridiculous bench top drill press I bought for $30 out of a Cummings Tools truck sale.

What is the best entry level floor standing drill press? I've seen a nice bench top Ryobi as well as a Delta with variable speed. I'd like the travel of a floor standing drill press and now I finally have the room. Maybe $300 - $400 price range?

    Any suggestions?

I have the Jet JDP-15MF and have been very happy with it. They run about $425.00 and Jet is offering a $50.00 rebate right now.

If the 30% MS Cashback returns a Steel City 17" can be a bargain. I got mine for $399 shipped. I think woodcraft carries them for $499 reguarlly. The split head and 6" quill stroke make it well worth the money. I think that's a big advantage over the Jet.
