My shop on the wood whisperer

Hey guys, some photos of my shop are up on the wood whisperer blog. If you have not checked out that blog (been mentioned in a couple of threads today), you should, it's pretty good.

Looking pretty good there, Keith. Looks like you put some work into the layout to make the most out of your space.

Very cool Keith you do a lot in a very small space. I am jealous of your drum sander.

Pretty neat, Keith. You've posted pics of your shop before, but this is the first time I can recall seeing a comprehensive look at the entire setup.

Do you have your DJM-style assembly table on wheels so it can double as an outfeed table? It appears to be at about the correct height.

Yes indeed Larry, it's on some heavy duty casters and is built for that very purpose.

Thanks guys for the comments, it was tricky to get all of that stuff in there, what you don't see is that I have some other stuff tucked away as well, that I have to get out to use, such as my Ridgid OSS and my D4R, etc....it's tight in there, but it works for me.

You appear to have a flat floor, flat walls, and an 8 foot ceiling.

              I'm jealous.

That's really cool Keith. With such a nice shop, how can you ever stand to leave?

Honorable mention, nice job Keith - how do find time to work with baby sleeping?

Thanks for the nice comments gang, the shop is pretty well setup, my only complaint is not having enough time to do stuff in it. Writing code for 2 game companies, the baby, and my drum addiction, leaves little time for getting to the shop. I get in there as much as I can, typically while the kids asleep, the shop has an insulated wall to the house, so it's possible to work in there without disturbing family and neighbors.

A little more breathing room and a spray booth are my only 2 wishes.

Pecker, don't let those photos fool ya, the floor is not really flat, and not really level. The table saw is where it is in part because that's a flatish spot. There are sleepers and a subfloor over concrete that tapers for drainage like any other garage, but they were not very picky when doing that job. The ceiling is 8' on one side, and about 7'8" on the other side, so if I need to stand 8' pieces up, they go to one side of the shop, a bit of a challenge when it comes to plywood, so I don't keep any, buy as I need.
