I have had the 10" Craftsman for over a year, and it has done anything I ask of it. I have even resawn with it. Oak, hard maple, and purple heart. It's probably not anywhere near the saw that the bigger, more expensive saws are, but until I need more, I'd say it's a great little saw. I paid $119. for mine.

With respect to thick stock on a jig saw, I have cut 4x4 pressure treated pine several times with my Bosch. 2X construction wood is no big deal with it. Totally different from lesser saws I had used previously. The Bosch will go through wood nearly as fast as a circular saw as long as the blade is correct for the task and sharp.
It is still not as good as even my inexpensive 12 inch band saw, however, for doing little things you use a bandsaw for.
