    New Track at HF

    http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=98608

Has anybody seen this T-Track in their local store? I haven't been able to get by mine lately, but I'm seeing alot of new items online.

A 36" piece for 10.99. Twice the price of the track they had for a short time last year, it might still be a decent price. I don't have a local supplier.

The item does come up on the harborfreightusa website which is the retail store site. The general rule of thumb is that means that the item is carried at the brick and mortar locations.

I noticed that and that's what I'm hoping, HF is getting a little disclaimer happy lately though:

"All items may or may not be available at all stores"
"Prices on our website may or may not be current prices in our stores"

I've been too buried in network simulators and dirty diapers to get out much lately, but hopefully I can make a stop this afternoon.

I haven't seen it, but it seems a little pricey to me. Maybe I'm just out of touch with reality. I think Rockler's T-track kits, on sale, are a better bet because you get a pretty good supply of goodies with it.

Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

I saw one piece of t-track and one cross piece at my local store yesterday. It was there by the squares and rules and such.

I suspect we'll be seeing steadily escalating prices on metal items. I hear that some eastern cities are finding that their manhole covers are disappearing as folks steal them for metal content. Our local Home Depot stores no longer accept returns on copper without receipts, as there's so much of it being stolen from work sites, even from live transmission lines. Welcome to the overcrowded new world!

That's actually 3/8" x 3/4" miter track, which is not the same as the t-track that takes 1/4" (most common) or 5/16" (Rockler's track) hardware. The miter track usually cost a little more than standard t-track and also takes different hardware to use as a t-track. Look at the link for the hold-down clamp on the HF site and see the aluminum adapter that goes on the head of the clamp bolt.
