    Makita MAC700 air compressor question

I bought this new almost 2 years ago but have used it only occaisionally. It was working great. I turned it off one day, turned it on the next and NOTHING. Of course its plugged in but when I turn it on it may as well be unplugged. Any quick/easy fix ideas? Is it worth trying to get the compressor repaired? Thanks for the help!

Are there any circuit breakers/reset switches on that unit? I'd put it on the bench and look it over closely.

Oh, I suppose it is also a problem w/ the pressure switch. If it "thinks" it is charged, it won't turn on.

thanks for the help. The pressure guage is down to zero. is there another way this compressor could "think" its charged but not be?

Not sue, but I don't think it uses the gauge. I think it has a sensor on the tank under the motor.

Perhaps you could get a parts list for the Makita from the Makita web site. Or call them and explain the symptoms and ask if the pressure switch could be shot. Maybe there would be a way to jumper it out to test it (with the tank drain valve open, of course).

Is there by any chance a fuse somewhere that may have blown?

Not sure if you still have the manual but here is a link to the online version. It has a number of suggestions in the troubleshooting section for "motor wont run."

                Good luck.
