Hitachi scroll saw

Does anyone have or have used this scroll saw? http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...W40&lpage=none As I get into this intarsia thing I'm finding my old Ryobi to be lacking. I know the one to have is the Dewalt but I can't bring myself to spring for that kinda dough right now. Thanks, Pat

Blade changing on pinless blades, everything has to be done with an "allen wrench" and it's not variable speed....My Ryobi is about 15-16 years old BTW. Can't speak for the new ones. Pat

I have this saw & so far it's been a good saw. You can probably take that with a grain of salt in that the only thing I've used it for so far was to cut a couple of pinewood derby cars. Changing blades was a snap, variable speed is great. This saw is identical to one of the Craftsman scroll saws. Probably the same manufacturer. I'm sure this scroll saw is capable of alot more than I've put it through so far.

there is a older (2003) review of scroll saws. The one you linked looks like another version of the craftsman in this review.

I have the Tradesman version of this saw. Got it several years back. Whoever makes this scroll saw, they market their saw very well with several different labels.
