    1st tool gloat

I had a $50 gift cert. for Sears, so I checked out the tool section

they had the Milwaukee 5615-29 on clearance for 79.99 (down from 159.99), but only had the display model on display without any collets or case

I asked for a manger to see how low I could talk him down to since the replacement for the 1/2 collet is around $20.

The manger happened to be a former student who marked it from 79.99 - 55.99 (for being the display model and used), and then marked it down to 29.99!!!

It is currently for sale at Amazon for $144.00

I got a bunch of Holbren's bits when he was clearing them out and I am looking forward to playing with the router once the replacement collet comes in. I figured that I didn't need a 1/4 in collet, since I can use my current Skil 1825 (first router) or Bosch Colt.

I am often envious when I read other people's gloats, I felt I should share mine.

You stole a "puppy" you're gonna love. I have the 2 1/4 HP Milwaukee Combo kit and a 5625 3 1/2 HP under my table. Over the years I have had 6 different brands but the Milwaukee's are "hosses" and you'll love the feel of them in your hand.

    Congratulations on an early Xmas...

          Let me guess...

You either taught economics or math. In either case, he failed or just barely passed!

          Good deal.

I teach high school biology/ environmental science, and he was good student, who also ran track for me his senior year.

I was happy when I saw that he rang it up at 55.00, but then he said he wasn't done yet. I was thrilled when it was 29.99. I just wish they still had the hard case and collets in the back. But for the price it was a real steal.

Harrumph. Nothing like that ever happens to me.

You got a great deal and you will like that router.
