    Performax 16/32 tool gloat

So I've been looking for a bargain priced Performax on Craig's List for a few months. Some time back, I missed one in my neighborhood by 2 minutes. The phone was literally busy because the guy who bought it was talking to the owner. That one went for $225. Argh.

Anyway, I popped on CL last night at bedtime. One had been posted at 10:52 PM and I saw it at 11:00. I figured the seller must still be awake, so I called him and sure enough he answered. Long story short, I drove to Seattle this morning and bought a Performax 16/32 for $200. It even turned out that the owner lives 5 blocks from the Rockler store, so I picked up a few rolls of sand paper on the way out.

The sander runs fine, although I just got it home so haven't tried it on a project yet. Just had to crow to an appreciative audience (my wife and daughter yawned).

EXCUUUSE ME! What are you guys talking about, I googled Performax and the website indicates they make (or supply) a whole bunch of things, including an air filtering system that looks suspiciously like my Jet?

Jet bought out the Performax sander line (as well as other tools). The Jets are identical to the Performax.
