Budget Shop from the bagain forum

Thanks to the bargain forum I've been able to put together a pretty decent shop for what i've paid. The only major tools I'm still looking for are a drill press, mitersaw and bandsaw. I have a hand-me-down drill press right now that does the job more or less. All were bought NIB except the tool cabinet which was damaged in shipping (but functional).

    Delta 36-979 tablesaw - $300
    Biesemeyer Fence - $80
    Delta JT360 6" jointer - $220
    Dewalt DW735 13" Planer - $373
    Dewalt DW618B2 router - $220
    Freud RTP1000 Router Table - $110
    Dewalt 18v 7 piece cordless kit - $480
    Dewalt DW056 Impact Wrench - $80
    Bosch 1587 Jig Saw - $80
Kobalt 6 Drawer Ball Bearing Cabinet - $100

I've managed to save about $1420 by not paying the usual retail prices.

You could have "SAVED" even more, if Jeff Schonce, was still around, fishing the Amazon. LOL

Since he left, how many marriages have been saved.

To bad you missed out on the Hitachi CB13F a couple years ago. If you don't need a BIG bandsaw it is a perfect choice. But we snapped them up for $125ish when they discontinued them. 12 incher with the ability to go to 11 inch cutting depth with a spacer block.

If you don't like the price on the Griz 14 incher, Sears has a pretty decent looking craftsman 12 inch (euro style) for less than $400 regular. Try to catchit on sale.

If at first you don't succeed, deny you were trying in the first place.

A bargain hunter after me own heart! You've done extremely well overall.

Re: your future purchases...I'm often and justifiably cautious about many Harbor Freight tools, but I picked up their 13" 38142 benchtop DP last winter for $144 and am very very happy with it. I managed to snag a 12" Craftsman 22400 BS for $190 that I've also been very happy with...that might be tough to find for that price again though. FWIW, my miter saw collects dust on a shelf most of the time....I only use it for 8' plus pieces, which is rare....if you don't need one, you could apply the savings to other upgrades. Good luck!
Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.
