My new pen blank cutter and shop vac......

I have been looking for a band saw for months in the paper and on CL and have always been next on the list or sorry you just missed it. Well a friend of mine from work was telling me about his uncle who had a band saw and DC that he was thinking about selling. I talked to his uncle last night and set up a road trip for after work this afternoon.

So after work this afternoon I took a little road trip to get my new/used band saw and a lightly used DC. Here it is after I off loaded it in my driveway. A 16" ShopFox band saw and a Jet DC1100......$500 out the door.

Should only take about 3 days till they cool enough to touch them.

How big a pen blank you going to cut? That deserves a large Gloat. Have fun and enjoy them.

Grant - congratulations and we all hate you!!!

Seriously what a great deal. As somebody who has spent nearly 3 times that much on similar two tools over the past few months I am jealous.

Having a quality DC has changed much about what I do and my garage (and lungs) are much cleaner for it. My bandsaw is only a few weeks old and I just got some new blades (Iturra) for it and hope to give them their first run this weekend.

Do make sure you post some project pictures of what comes from your new finds.

Nice deal!!! Have enough to upgrade that DC to a canister? The bandsaw looks great, btw....
