    Whiteside router bit update

In response to Gwyneth's paean to the beauty of her Whiteside bit, I bought the seven bit starter set from our member Holbren.

I was dreading the chamfer and round-overs I was going to have to do with some African Blackwood.

Blackwood is hard as a rock and brittle. On source I read, recommended using metal working tools when turning Blackwood.

Well, the Whiteside bits worked perfectly. The cuts were smooth with no chipping. I was most surprised by the fact that my PC 690, mounted in my router table, didn't bog down or change pitch when I was feeding the Blackwood through. This was definitely not the case with some cheaper bits. When I say cheaper, I mean in manufacture, as these bits were less than $7.00 each from Holbren.
