    saw jealousy

I am up in Seattle (Bellevue to be exact) right now on business. I had some time to kill this pm and found a gread woodworking store. They had a sawstop and PM200 (with workbench) on display. Its the first time I have seen either in the flesh and they are both awesome saws. with 5hp (or more) and a > $4K price tag they are more than my budget but really nice pieces.

We can all aspire to soemting like thos.

Jon, Welcome to the Seattle area. I'm just across the lake from Bellevue on Queen Anne hill.
Sounds like you may have found the local Woodcraft store, I drool over the Sawstop every time I go in there.

It was actuay a place i found in bellevue called Eastside Saw.

I think the woodcraft store is the other side of the water and I intend to try and swing by there on my way to the airport today to see if they have the rikon BS I can look at.

You will be impressed with the Woodcraft store. Take the Corson exit off of I-5 and they are in the strip mall on the right just after the exit. They did have the Rikon in stock last week.

The Woodcraft store that Whaler is referring to is one of my favorites as well. The people working there have a good understanding of tools, and woodworking. I always leave some money behind there.

The 3hp PM2000 is much less than 4 grand... It's always cool to see these things live though. I pretty much bought mine blind, but wasn't disappointed.

I'm currently in process of moving uo there to Whidbey Island. I'll be wanting to check out those stores. I do own a Powermatic PM2000 (3HP). I've been looking for the workbench extension table as the included one with mine is a POS.

Spratone, welcome to the Puget Sound area. You might also like to visit the Rockler store as well. It is off the exit for 45th and 50th, take a right on the 45th st part of the exit, keep going on 45th till the Stoneway North stoplight. Turn left from 45th onto Stoneway, heading south, it is on the 38th Street block on the right hand side.

I am now back at SeaTac waiting for my flight back to the warmth in PHX.

I went and had a good browse in the Woodcraft store, they have a good selection out to touch and feel. I talked with Ron (the president) and he was suggesting the powermatic which they have some special on right now $899 inc a free riser. It does need a special mobile base ($150) so by the time I add a miter gauge it would be close to $1200 OTD. Thats quite a lot more than the $7-800 I was hoping for

I still like the look of the Rikon though, it seems more compact somehow. ANd I have yet to see a Griz 0555X so my search continues.
