    looking for a new lathe

I found this lathe at grizzly. Does anyone know anything about it?

    Also any recommendations/other brands.

From what I've heard, it's a very well biult beast, but I'd look at the G0632 (one step down) as it offers a better speed range and the sanding disc isn't blocking the hole through the headstock.

Also the headstock on the 0632 swivels to allow larger turnings. It is actually a clone of a jet and I beleive there is also a similar Powermatic model.

I have a G0462 and love it, but the electronic VS would be nice.

Oh, and Grizzley costomer service is top notch. Some people feel the products are inferior to other, but in the bank for the buck catagory, they can't be touched. I honestly haven't seen why other lathes are so much better, but I'm sure that the difference from a $3000 powermatic and a $425 G0462 can be found.

If at first you don't succeed, deny you were trying in the first place.
