I Need Help Finding a Tool

I've searched all over this site, HF's site and google and I'm coming up with nothing.

Maybe I completely fabricated this in my mind, but I could swear somebody posted a link to a knock-off zipwall like telescoping clamp at HF a few months back.

Anybody?

If memory serves (even though I'm old), HF had serious problems with that thing, and I mean serious (like lawsuits for catastrophic failures and such). Probably pulled it off the market.

Had that piece of s*&t and cut it up before I put in the trash so no one else would be temped to take it out and use it. If you do buy it, don't use it to hold up anything heavier than saran wrap.

Had that piece of s*&t and cut it up before I put in the trash so no one else would be temped to take it out and use it. If you do buy it, don't use it to hold up anything heavier than saran wrap.

Ouch. Based on that... maybe I'll reconsider. I only need it for one project though.

I use those to secure loads in my pick-up. For that purpose, so far they have performed flawlessly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

just started, what were you trying to hold up with them anyway?

It's not a clamp? For what it's worth...I searched for "clamp", "spreader" and "truck" on HF's site and it didn't come up for any of them.

but everytime I stop at HF they are out of stock. Maybe they are saving me some aggravation.

I got 4 of them when HF first advertised them, had to wait for about 2 month on backorder. Have used them to hold plastic up to make a tent for paint spraying and they were slick. Have used them to hold a few other thing up and worked well. Have not used them to hold up anything real heavy. For $10.00 each, they are a steal compared to the real "Second Hand" units.

10' 4" sq electrical raceway, 1 side laying on top of ladder waiting for me to hang it, the other end being held up with this.

You may have got a dud. I took a chance and picked up 4 for ~$8 each today. Opened one to try out and it worked like a champ. Assuming the other three are just as good... I'm happy. I intend to use them to make a temporary spray booth when I paint the kitchen cabinets.

These were the subject of many posts here months ago. As I recall, they were said to have been removed from sale for some time, as there may have been some type of design defect (no one ever determined what the problem was). Then they came back in stock. I bought 4 to use to set up a spray tent, as someone else had mentioned as a use at the time. I am very satisfied with these @$10 each. They are hard to get, because every time they get a supply in, when they are on sale, they seem to go right out. Don't count on a rain check - they will never notify you. Check back at the store every few days, and you will be successful.
