The chief cause of failure in this life is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment.

I wonder if they just have someone proficient in Photo Shop or do they actually make mock ups for their April Fools lists.

That jack plane is a hoss... Tried one out at a recent show. The iron alone weighs like 3 pounds! No chatter with this monster!

I guess I can answer my own question. Lee Valley's Rob Lee has a post on Woodnet where he says they actually do make the tools they use in the April Fools ads and they do "mostly" work as listed.

Better not walk by a refrigerator wearing an empty pouchless tool belt!

That very plane was in Tampa last week... But they were actually demo'ing the serious version of it, which was like buttah...

The comic version is so heavy, it would take 3 Clydesdales to pull it across a block of wood!

              Don't forget this year's offering:
              http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.a...59&cat=1,50230

And make sure you click on "view" at the bottom of the pouchless tool belt for the best picture of the bunch.

I thought Chrysler used up all the Corinthian leather back in the 60's.. The angle on the jack looks to be about 80* should really do wild grain well.

Crazy stuff. I guess I don't have the tool buying disease that badly.

                    Hey Gary,

It's Lee Valley's annual April Fools Day joke. They're not real tools.
