Got a Wixey Digital Fence Readout for a Gift!

The title pretty much sums it up! I'm blessed with a really generous friend who happens to be a woodworker. He's my youngest daughter's Godfather, and all three of us have BD's within a few days of each other, so we tend to exchange gifts. He always shows up with the neatest woodworking gifts! ...yesterday was the Wixey fence readout for my Biese, last year was my Wixey angle gauge, two years ago it was a Woodcraft tenoning jig, 5 years ago it was my 40T WWII, the list goes on to include a homemade 220v remote control for my DC, a Fowler combo square, some great books, my Osborne EB-3, Bessey corner clamp set, ...Lord knows there's more but it escapes me at the moment.

This could just as easily be friend gloat but then I'd have to move the thread to the "Coffee Pot"!

Congrats on the new toy. You wouldn't want to introduce me to my new friend, would you?

You're going to be amazed at the accuracy of your new toy!

I've had mine for 4 months now, but I have to remind myself that if I'm off by 0.005" that's less than 1/128 of an inch.

I just about wore my knuckles out nudging to that last 0.001".

        Good luck.

Congratulations on your friend and you new tool. That changed the way I work in my shop. Between the wixey fence gauge and teh Incra 1000se my table saw is used so much more because it's faster and more accurate than anything else. I too am dialed in within 0.005". I thought it might drift so I left it. It hasn't changed in 3-4 months.
