The pad with the hook and loop on my Bosch ROS is starting to come off. Anyone know if this can be replaced and if so where I can get it? How is it attached to the ROS? adhesive?

Ryobi's can be replaced
I had a Ryobi ROS with the same problem and the hook and loop pad was easily replaced. It was just held onto the sander with adhesive. Peeled the old one off and put the new one on. I imagine the Bosch works the same way. In fact, if the Bosch is an 8 hole format, the Ryobi replacement hook and loop pad (got mine at HD) would probably fit just fine.Jim

There seems to be a hard, soft, and very soft models. What are the advantages of the different types?

hard is for sanding surfaces that you want to keep flat and sharp and rapid material removal. soft is for countours and isn't as aggressive.
punch your zip into this page and it will tell you your local service center. you can buy parts from them.

Thanks Tom and John. That's a great price on the Ryobi but I don't think it will work for my ROS. As far as I can tell there's only 1 hex screw in the middle holding the pad to the ROS as opposed to the multiple ones the Ryobi uses.I reject your reality and substitute my own.Comment
