    Worksharp 3000

I just ordered a worksharp 3000 and wondered if anyone has experience using the leather hone wheel accessory.

I found lots of people recommending the worksharp but no one commenting on how the honing wheel works. Thanks.

Well, I guess this is an opportunity to write up a review. It is supposed to be here on Monday so I will test it out then. Thanks.

I've been thinking about buying one of these to sharpen carving tools and plane irons. I look forward to your review. Thanks.

Just picked up a Worksharp 3000 yesterday at my local Rockler. With a 10% local promo discount on power tools plus using a $130 Rewards Member credit, I ended up with a pretty good deal.

Watched the DVD that came with it and set up all the discs with abrasives. I then sharpened a good, but slightly dull 1/4" chisel. With less than 5 minutes work, I had a really nice edge.

Don't have the leather honing disc, but I've always used a leather strop after sharpening on my waterstones to get that razor sharp edge. A few strokes on the strop after the Worksharp and I was really happy with the results.
