    Drum Sander Speed?

What is the proper RPM's to use with a 2 1/2" drum sander in the drill press. I need to do a little thickness sanding on narrow cedar boards.

According to Wood Magazine's Drill Press Speed Chart:

    Drum sanders:
    - Hard rubber: on softwood 750 ; hardwood 1500 ; acrilic 750

    - Soft sleeveless: ........... 500 ; ............. 750 ; ......... 750

    - 3" pneumatic: .............1750 ; ........... 1750 ; ........ 1750

Somebody may have the link to the site. It's a good chart to have in the shop.

Wood Magazine has a free Drill Speeds chart on their website (It's a freebie).
Here's a link to the down-loadable version that can be printed and laminated to keep near your Drill Press. (It's in pdf format) []
